A wild elephant was found dead in Vithura, Thiruvanathapuram. On Saturday morning, a tapping worker found the female wild elephant leaning in a private backyard near the forest boundary in Kallar. The elephant has no injuries. A baby elephant was also found next to the dead elephant. The forest department has decided to shift the calf to the Kottur elephant care centre. The reason for the elephant's death is not clear. Palode Forest Range officials arrived at the scene and took post-mortem measures.
