57-kg tumour removed from woman's abdomen in Odisha

A 57-kg rare tumour was successfully removed from the abdomen of a woman at the Sai Sewa Sadan hospital in Odisha's Khurda district after a strenuous surgery of five hours. The woman, Phulmati Nayak of Nabarangpur district was suffering from the tumour for the past 10 years, however, due to lack of funds, she was unable to get treatment and was in pain. The operation team was led by Dr Jagdish Chandra Behera.
