After Cyclone Tauktae hit the Arabian Sea off the coast of Mumbai, four vessels of the Oil Natural Gas Corporation Ltd went adrift, stranding an estimated total of 800 personnel on board, the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard on Monday launched a rescue mission. As per the latest reports, two ships of the Indian Navy, INS Kochi and INS Kolkata were deployed for the rescue mission. Three coast guard vessels and 14 other vessels owned by ONGC and chartered vessels have also been deployed for the rescue mission. 188 survivors and 49 deceased have been recovered so far. INS Beas at Mumbai disembarking the mortal remains of the deceased. Ships and aircraft continue to search for the remaining crew.
