Satara (Maharashtra): Amid escalating cases of coronavirus pandemic across the nation, burglars have also found ways to commit theft by adopting preventive techniques. A gang of burglars looted a jewellery shop in Maharashtra's Satara by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus. The incident took place in Phaltan's Raviwar Peth and the area is near the micro-containment zone. The robbery was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the shop. In the video, the burglars were seen wearing caps, masks, plastic jackets and hand-gloves while they stole around 780 grams of gold jewellery worth over Rs 20 lakh. As per the police, they entered the Hirachand Kantilal Saraf shop by breaking the wall of a goldsmith's shop. The area has been declared as a containment zone for the past 15 days. A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab them as their identification is yet to be known.
