In a unique show of protest, tribal youths staged a protest against the lack of roads by wearing leaves at GVMC Gandhi statue in Vishaka city. Further, they held a rally carrying a 'doli' to depict their hardship. People living in Pinakota panchayat, Anantagiri Mandal, Vishaka district have no access to good roads. Medical emergencies take a toll on them due to lack of proper road connectivity. Tribals carry pregnant women, children, elderly and sick people in 'doli' over long distance and somehow manage to reach hospital. Although the government has released Rs 17 crores for the road construction, the path remains unpaved as authorities continue to turn blind to their suffering.
