On duty cop beaten to death by unruly mob in West Bengal

Uttar Dinajpur (West Bengal): A Station House Officer (SHO) of Bihar Police was beaten to death by a crowd in West Bengal on April 09. SHO of Kishanganj Police Station in Bihar, Ashwini Kumar, was attacked by local people when he was visiting a village in the Goalpokhar Police Station area of Uttar Dinajpur to investigate a theft case. Speaking on the matter, Suresh Kumar Choudhary, IG Purnia Range said: "He had come for a raid in connection with a bike theft. Islampur Superintendent of Police is also with us. We will raid and arrest those responsible for the act." (With inputs from agencies)
