Multiple landslides block Jammu-Srinagar NH

Multiple landslides triggered by heavy rains blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district on Thursday, leaving over 300 vehicles stranded. The 270-km highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with rest of the country, was blocked by landslides at Trishul Morh, Battery Cheshma and Pantiyal. Men and machinery have been deployed to clear the area. The engineer deployed for the clearance of the National Highway assured that it will be operational in the next 5-6 hours. Earlier on August 13, over 200 vehicles stranded due to landslide.
