Lockdown impact: Dolphin appears in Ganga river in Jharkhand

The people of Sahibganj say that an era had passed when they saw the dolphins. But now they are seen every 10 to 15 minutes. Earlier, goods like stones, chips and sand used to go to other states in the cargo ships via Ganga. Every day, from motorboats to water vessels carrying goods, they used to contaminate the river water. But now it is not so. Environmentalist Prof. Ranjit Singh said that the water of the Ganges has become stable and free of pollution. This is the reason why other creatures including dolphins are being seen.
