WATCH: Hundreds defy social distancing guidelines to celebrate fish festival in Tamil Nadu

At a time when the country is reeling under the Coronavirus crisis, hundreds of people gathered at a fish festival violating the social distancing norms in Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Nakkambadi village of Ariyalur District is famous for its yearly fish festival. Every year people from across the state used to gather and celebrate the festival. This year, the gathering was banned in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. However, defying the guidelines issued by the government, people flocked in large numbers risking their lives to celebrate the fish festival.
