Family carries pregnant woman on cot to hospital in Odisha

Keonjhar: Villagers in Odisha's Keonjhar are facing distress due to lack of proper roads, due to which, many patients are being carried on cots as ambulances can't reach there. A pregnant woman named Nandini was carried on a cot for four kilometres after she experienced labour pains. She was later shifted in an ambulance at Haldipani, a lower side village of the forest range. But all the efforts of the family members and villagers went in vain as the baby was stillborn. According to sources, due to many such incidents, women prefer to give birth in their houses.
