Gangetic dolphin beaten to death in Uttar Pradesh

Pratapgarh: In a brutal incident, a dolphin was beaten to death by a group of youngsters in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Video of the inhuman act has gone viral and police have subsequently arrested three youngsters. Locals said that the dolphin reached the Sarada tributary from the Ganges river. It should also be noted that dolphin is declared as national aquatic species and various schemes to protect the species is in place under the Central and State government.
