Delhi airport inundated after record rain

Parts of Indira Gandhi International Airport, including the forecourt of the airport, were waterlogged following heavy rainfall on Saturday, its operator Delhi International Airport Limited said. Four domestic flights and one international flight were diverted from Delhi to Jaipur and Ahmedabad due to the bad weather conditions. "We regret the inconvenience caused. Due to sudden heavy rain, for a short period, there was waterlogging at the forecourt. Our team was immediately aligned to look into it and the issue has been resolved," DIAL said in a statement. The national capital and its adjoining areas received heavy rainfall on Saturday morning with Safdarjung observatory recording over 1,000-mm rainfall for the season in some areas.
