Newly-wed couple get unusual gifts in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: As fuel and onion prices surged across India, a group of friends in Chennai gave five litres of petrol, an onion garland and a cylinder of LPG as a gift to a newly-wed couple. Guests at the wedding of Karthik and Saranya said the gesture was thought-provoking. A litre of petrol costs Rs 92 and LPG costs Rs 900 per cylinder in Tamil Nadu.
