India's first sandalwood museum in Mysore

Mysore: The first sandalwood museum in India is now set up in Mysore. The museum has been established by the Mysuru Forest division in its premises. The museum aims at encouraging farmers to plant sandalwood, increase awareness among them and encourage them to sell it. Karnataka, once rich in sandalwood plantation, has now diminished in its glory and the museum is intended to retain the pride of Mysore sandalwood.
