BRO opens new bailey bridge to vehicle traffic over Rishiganga

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) opened on a 200-feet long bailey bridge to vehicle traffic after the old 90m-long bridge was washed away on February 7 in Raini village in Uttarakhand. The bridge was opened for vehicle movement at 2 pm on Friday. It was completed in a record time of eight days. The rivers Dhauli Ganga and Rishiganga flow through the Raini area of Chamoli district in the state. The rivers overflowed as soon as a glacier broke on February 7. Over 70 people had lost their lives in the Uttarakhand glacier burst incident.
