Qatar's headache: Athletes light up World Championships, empty stands greet them

Doha: Qatar once again fell short of enthusiasm as empty seats greeted the world's most renowned athletes at the ongoing IAAF World Championships here. The Middle-East country confidently promised there would be “no empty seats” when it first bid for the World Athletics Championships, but three days into the 2019 championships that promise looks as hollow as the Doha stadium.
