Angul (Odisha): A video of a wild elephant, which was stuck in between the trunks of trees, came to light in Odisha. According to sources, the elephant entered a mango orchard in Odisha's Angul district and was trapped between the trunks of two trees. According to officials, on Monday night, the elephant entered the mango orchard.
While trying to eat mangoes its front leg got stuck between two trees. The jumbo screamed for a long time and was trapped for 18 hours. On receiving the information, a team under the supervision of the assistant conservator of forests reached the spot on Tuesday morning.
The elephant was first tranquilized and then with the help of JCB, the two trunks were chopped off. After a long five-hour operation, the jumbo was rescued. The elephant was provided treatment by the veterinary doctor and was then released into the forest. Currently, the forest department is monitoring the movement of elephants, an official said.
