Jashpur (Chhattisgarh): The mere mention of a snake sends chills down a person's spine. However, a boy in Chattisgarh felt anger instead of fear when he was bitten by a snake. Instead of fretting over it, the boy, in a bid to avenge the serpent's act, bit it back killing it instantly. 12-year-old Deepak Ram of Phahdi Korwa tribe in Pandraput village of Jashpur district was playing outside his elder sister's house on October 27 when a snake bit him on his hand. Angry over it, the boy as a reflex action held the snake in the same hand and bit it back multiple times killing it on the spot. "I was playing near my sister's house. The snake was behind me but I did not know. It bit me but I bit it back several times. I then went to my elder sister and told her that I had been bitten by a snake. She called my brother who took me to the hospital," the boy told ETV Bharat. Jashpur is also known as 'Naglok' among the locals because of the abundance of snakes found here. Incidents of snake bites are also very common and people lose their lives. But in this specific case, it was the opposite.
