Italy's special acrobatic air force unit flew over Codogno and Milan in northern Italy on Monday with an air show carrying the colours of the Italian flag. The show is starting a week long celebration ahead of June 2 to mark the 74th Day of the Republic. The annual tricolour air force acrobatic unit flypast is usually performed with the typical military parade in Rome, on June 2, the day of the proclamation of the Italian Republic. This year due to the COVID-19 pandemic there won't be a parade, but authorities decided to have the 'Frecce Tricolori,' tricolour arrows, perform their show all over Italy starting on Monday and ending in Rome on June 2. The show is symbolically embracing the whole nation with the colours of the Italian flag, in a sign of 'unity, solidarity, and recovery', said Italian Defence Minister Lorenzo Guerini.
