Profile of a killer: Unraveling the deadly new coronavirus
🎬 Watch Now: Feature Video
The success of the new coronavirus in infecting the world has defied all expectations. More than seven months into the pandemic scientists are still investigating the profile of this killer virus. Scientists think the pandemic virus originally arose in bats, which carry many kinds of coronaviruses without apparent harm. The virus jumped from bats to humans, perhaps with some other animal acting as a middleman. The new virus is invisible, but seemingly everywhere. It requires close contact to spread, but it has reached around the globe faster than any pandemic in history.
