EXCLUSIVE: Defence Expert PK Sehgal explains the reasons behind the India-China faceoff

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat News Editor Nishant Sharma, Defence Expert PK Sehgal and Srikanth Kondapalli, a professor in Chinese studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University have discussed the reasons and the motive behind the recent clash that broke out between Indian and Chinese armies. While explaining about the scuffle, Sehgal said that he served as the Helicopter unit Commander for three years in the area of Galwan Valley and have flown approximately 50 times. He said that the area has never been claimed by the Chinese in the past. This is the first time that the Chinese have made a major intrusion into the hot spring and Galwan Valley and now they are saying that the Galwan Valley fully belongs to them. The Chinese worries are that the road that we constructed- Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldi road and a parallel road to Galwan, gives us the options of occupying those heights on Galwan and interlink of the National Highway 219.
