Sperm allergy or semen allergy is a rare disease that affects the women’s sexual health, especially reproduction, more than men. But it should be known that if a man suffers from such a condition, problems such as infertility can also arise.
What Is Sperm Allergy?
Dr. Rahul Reddy explains that the sperm allergy commonly known as Human Seminal Plasma Hypersensitivity, is caused by glyco-proteins present in the semen or due to low pH. It is not a common disease, and is found in relatively few people. In this condition does not have much effect on the health of the man. But, if there is sexual intercourse without using a condom, then it is likely that when the sperm comes in contact with the female body, within a few minutes, there can be problems in her genitals. In most cases the woman may face Urinary Tracts Infections (UTIs) and other such conditions.
Symptoms Of Sperm Allergy
Dr. Rahul Reddy explains that most of the symptoms of semen allergy are seen in women. Symptoms begin to appear within 10 to 20 minutes after the sperm comes in contact with the body. Given the allergy, when problems occurring in the female sexual organs are ignored, issues such as UTIs may be seen. If a woman is facing problems like vaginal irritation and fever every time after having sex with her male partner, she should consult a doctor immediately. Apart from physical discomfort, sperm allergy also affects the relationship between the partners. Due to this condition, the affinity in the relationship starts to decrease, affecting the relationship and married life of the couple.
Treatment Of Sperm Allergy
Dr. Rahul explains that men who suffer from semen allergy, doctors advise them to use condoms for protection during sexual intercourse. At the same time, some women also take anti-allergic medicines before having sex when their male counterpart is suffering from such a condition. People who wish to further grow their family and have kids, doctors advise them to have Intrauterine insemination (IUI) or Intravaginal Seminal Graded Challenge. In addition to this, with the help of antibiotics, an attempt is made to reduce the pH in the male semen.
