West Bengal teen murdered after parents fail to pay ransom

A teenage boy was murdered by kidnappers in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Sunday. His family alleged that the kidnappers killed their son because they failed to pay a ransom of Rs 2 lakhs.

Murshidabad (WB): A teenage boy named Raihan Mahaldar, who had been kidnapped for ransom on Saturday in Murshidabad district of West Bengal, was found dead in a mango orchard on Sunday.

The incident took place at Dakbangla area under ​​Samsherganj police station limits.

According to the family, Raihan was playing outside the house on Sunday at around 11 am. Later, he went missing and the family searched around but didn't found him.

At noon, a phone call came by some unknown persons and they demanded 2 lakhs, for which Raihan family denied saying they won't be able to pay such a huge amount.

His family alleged that the kidnappers killed their son because they failed to pay a ransom of Rs 2 lakhs.

Currently, the body has been sent for the postmortem and an investigation into the matter is underway.
