Purulia (West Bengal): Another inhuman gesture was witnessed as locals of PN street in West Bengal's Purulia refused to touch a sick man fearing that he may be suffering from the deadly coronavirus. Reportedly, the sick man died at a hospital later here.
According to sources, an unidentified sick man was found lying on the PN street road this morning. But due to the fear of catching the infection, no one came near to that person.
Hours after witnessing the person's deteriorated condition, some locals called the police but police also allegedly refused to take the person stating that they did not have the adequate number of PPE kits.
Later, police brought PPE kits and rushed the sick man to the local hospital where the doctor pronounced him brought dead. Police have sent the body for postmortem and the identity of that person is yet to be ascertained, sources said.
