Claiming that he was "completely blacked out" at the Durga Puja Carnival in Kolkata, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said that he felt insulted and it took him three days to recover from the shock.

Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday said he felt insulted at the Durga Puja carnival in Kolkata, but asserted that being a servant of the people of West Bengal, he would not be deterred to discharge his constitutional duties.

Dhankar claimed that he was "completely blacked out at the programme", organized by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government to showcase some of the big-ticket pujas.

The ruling TMC was quick to hit back, accusing Dhankar of being "publicity-hungry" and acting in a manner that does not "befit a governor".

According to reports, Dhankhar was unhappy with the seating arrangement at Friday's carnival.

He was given a seat from where he reportedly could not watch the programme properly.

"I felt insulted at the carnival. I am deeply hurt and disturbed. The insult was not to me but to every person of Bengal. They will never digest such as insult.

"I am a servant of the people of West Bengal. Nothing can deter me from performing my constitutional duties," Dhankhar stated on the sidelines of a programme here.

This is an unusual kind of censorship, he said.

"I was sitting there for four long hours but was completely blacked out. How can you censor me after inviting me? Someone called me to say the incident was reminiscent of the Emergency period.

"I was pained so much that it took me three days to come out of the shock," he maintained.

Accusing Dhankar of "trying to make an issue out of a non-issue", senior TMC leader Tapas Roy said, "Why is he commenting on the matter after a week? He is just publicity-hungry. He is acting in a manner which does not befit a governor," Roy said.

Over 70 prominent community pujas put up a dazzling show on Friday at Red Road, projecting an array of themes and artwork on colourful tableaux during the annual carnival.

The fourth edition of the event, the brainchild of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was attended by her ministerial colleagues, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, officials of different consulates among other dignitaries.

Intro:কলকাতা, 15 অক্টোবর: এবার কার্নিভালকে নিয়ে রাজ‍্য রাজ্যপাল সংঘাত সামনে এল। রাজ‍্যপালের বক্তব্য, কার্নিভালে ডেকে, চার ঘন্টা বসিয়ে রেখে অপমান করা হয়েছে তাঁকে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সাংস্কৃতিক রাজ‍্য। সেখানে তার সঙ্গে আনকালচারড ব‍্যবহার করা হয়েছে। গোটা ঘটনায় তিনি গভীরভাবে ব‍্যাথিত বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন। কে বা কাঁরা এটা করেছে তা খুঁজে বের করতে সংবাদমাধ্যমকে অনুরোধ করেছেন রাজ্যপাল।

Body:আজ সস্ত্রীক ন্যাশনাল লাইব্রেরি পরিদর্শনে এসেছিলেন রাজ্যপাল জগদীপ ধনকর। সেখানেই তিনি বলেন, " আমি আমার ব্যথিত হৃদয় দিয়ে বলছি, 11 অক্টোবর পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মানুষজনেরা আমাদের সবাইকে গর্বিত করেছে। তাঁরা তাঁদের সব থেকে ভালোটা করেছে এবং সারা বিশ্ব সেটা উপভোগ করেছে। আমি তাঁদের এই প্রচেষ্টাকে এপ্রিসিয়েট করেছি এবং বহু প্যান্ডেল পরিদর্শন করেছি। যেটা আমায় এবং আমার হৃদয়কে গভীরভাবে ব‍্যাথিত করেছে, তা হল আমার সঙ্গে যে ব‍্যবহার করা হয়েছে। এই ব্যবহারের তিনটি ভাগ ছিল। প্রথমত, চার ঘন্টার বেশি সময় আমি ওখানে ছিলাম এবং অফিস সার্ভেন্ট পুরো ব্ল্যাকআউট ছিল। এটা একটা লক্ষণীয় সেন্সরশিপ। কী করে তুমি এই পদে থাকা একজনকে ব্ল্যাক আউট করতে পার, তাঁকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানোর পরে। এই ধরনের ঘটনা আগে কখনও শোনা যায়নি। এটা অন্য কোথাও খুঁজে পাওয়া যাবে না।" তারসঙ্গে এই ধরনের ঘটনা ঘটে যাওয়ার পর মিডিয়া কেন তিনদিন চুপ ছিল, সে নিয়েও প্রশ্ন তোলেন রাজ্যপাল। তিনি বলেন, "একজন আমায় ফোন করে বলেন, স্যার এটা জরুরি অবস্থার সময়ের কথা মনে করিয়ে দেয়। তখন মিডিয়া সামনে এগিয়ে এসেছিল। আমি আমার মিডিয়া বন্ধুদের অনুরোধ করব, কেন আপনারা তিন দিন চুপ ছিলেন? যখন সারা বিশ্ব এটা দেখছিল, বহু মানুষ আমায় ফোন করছিল, সংসদের সদস্যরা আমার সঙ্গে দেখা করতে আসছিল। তাঁরা তাঁদের গভীর বেদনা এক্সপ্রেস করছিল। কিন্তু যদি মিডিয়া তার শিরদাঁড়া সোজা না করে, তাহলে গণতান্ত্রিক শাসনের জন্য এটা দুঃখের দিন হয়ে উঠবে। তাই আমি মিডিয়াকে বলছি, আমার কঠোরভাবে সমালোচনা কর, যত কঠোরভাবে ইচ্ছা তত কঠোরভাবে সমালোচনা কর। কিন্তু, অন্যদেরও সমালোচনা কর।" আপনাকে কী ব‍্যাক আউট করা হয়েছিল? রাজ‍্যপাল বলেন, " আমি জানি না। ওনাদের জিজ্ঞেস করুন। পুরো বিশ্ব দেখেছে। চার ঘন্টার মধ্যে এক সেকেন্ডের জন্যও টেলিভিশনে অফিস সার্ভেন্টের মুখ দেখানো হল না। আমি আনটাচেবল নই। তা সত্ত্বেও এই ধরনের ইনটলারেন্স সহ্য করা যায় না। এটা আপনাদের খুঁজে বের করার বিষয়। আমি এটা করিনি। আমি সাফার করেছি। অনেক লাইভ ইভেন্ট ছিল ওখানে। কিন্তু, আমি আমার একটাও লাইভ ইভেন্ট দেখতে পাইনি। ভিডিও কভারেজ দেখলেই বিষয়টা পরিষ্কার হয়ে যাবে।" কার্নিভালে সংবাদমাধ্যমকে ভিডিও ফিড দিয়েছিল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। যা একটা আউটসোর্সিং ফিড। আপনি কি মনে করেন আপনার জন্য একটা আলাদা পোডিয়াম তৈরি করা উচিত ছিল? রাজ‍্যপাল বলেন, " আমি শুধু বলছি যেটা হয়েছে তাতে আমায় লজ্জা দেওয়া হয়েছে। কারণ, পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কোনও মানুষ এটা সমর্থন করবে না। যদি আমি ব্যথিত হই, তাঁরাও ব্যথিত হবে। শুধু আলাদা পোডিয়াম নয়। দেখুন তাঁরা আমার জন্য কী বানিয়েছিল। হোমওয়ার্ক করুন, তদন্ত করুন, জেনে যাবেন কী করা হয়েছে। এটা করা উচিত হয়নি। আমরা যে দেশে বাস করি সেখানে 'অতিথি দেব ভব'। আমার হৃদয়ের এই আঘাতটা থেকে রিকভার করতে তিনদিন সময় লেগেছে।" রাজ্যপাল জগদীপ ধনকর আরও বলেন, " আমি মনে করি, বিশ্বের মধ‍্যে সাংস্কৃতিক ফাউন্টেন হল বাংলা। যদি তাঁরা এইরকম আনকালচার্ড ব্যবহার করে। আমি জানি না কেন তাঁরা এটা করল, কে করল। আমি মনে করি, এটা হয় তাঁরা এক্সপ্লেন করবে, না হয় মিডিয়া খুঁজে বার করবে। আমি কি হাতজোড় করে মিডিয়ার সাইলেন্স অনুরোধ করতে পারি? এটাও আমার কাছে অত‍্যন্ত বেদনার ছিল।" এই ব্যাথিত হওয়ার বিষয় জানিয়ে রাজ্য সরকারকে কি কোনও চিঠি দেবেন? রাজ‍্যপাল বলেন, "না। আমি দেব না। আমি আমার ইগো বা প্রটোকলের কেয়ার করি না। আমি তার থেকে বেশি কেয়ার করি আমার পদের, পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মানুষের প্রতি আমার যে ভালোবাসা আছে তার। চার ঘন্টা ধরে এই পদে থাকা মানুষকে ব্ল‍্যাক আউট করে রাখা। আমি নিশ্চিত যে, কেউ এটার সমর্থন করবে না‌।"
