North 24 Parganas (West Bengal): At least two people were killed, and four others sustained injuries in an explosion in Bhatpara area of West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district on Monday night.
Locals allege that two crude bombs were lobbed by unidentified miscreants which led to the explosion.
"Some people lobbed two crude bombs last night. We are scared. There also have been robberies in the area. We demand intervention by the administration, " said one of the locals.
The three injured have been admitted to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

North 24 Paraganas has been witnessing politically-driven violence since the end of Lok Sabha poll, 2019, with three BJP workers and a TMC volunteer being killed in clashes between the workers of both the parties recently.
