Two BJP MLAs quit in West Bengal, will retain LS seats

Two BJP MLAs in West Bengal, Nisith Pramanik and Jagannath Sarkar resigned from MLA's posts. The duo submitted their resignation to speaker Biman Banerjee in the West Bengal Assembly on Wednesday. Nisith Pramanik resigned as Dinhata MLA and Jagannath Sarkar resigned as Shantipur MLA. The duo will remain as MPs.

Kolkata: Two BJP MLAs in West Bengal, Nisith Pramanik and Jagannath Sarkar resigned from MLA's posts. The duo submitted their resignation to speaker Biman Banerjee in the West Bengal Assembly on Wednesday. Nisith Pramanik resigned as Dinhata MLA and Jagannath Sarkar resigned as Shantipur MLA. The duo will remain as MPs.

After resignation from the MLA post, Nisith Pramanik said that we have followed the party's decision. The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided that we should resign from our assembly seats. BJP won 77 seats in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly, its tally has now reduced to 75 seats.
