Kolkata (West Bengal): The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday released its official campaign slogan for the upcoming state Assembly polls in West Bengal.

TMC's new campaign slogan 'Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chai' (Bengal Wants Her Daughter) projects current chief minister and party chief Mamata Banerjee as Bengal's daughter.

"The message is loud & clear — from North to South, East to West — only one name echoes across Bengal: @MamataOfficial! The one who fights tooth & nail for her people, uplifts all & stands up for the voiceless, the only one who will take Bengal forward... #BanglaNijerMeyekeiChay,(sic)" TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee said in a tweet.

Earlier this month, Abhishek Banerjee asserted the TMC will secure 250 plus seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party's will find it difficult to cross the double-digit mark.

He was countering the BJP's claim of coming to power in the state by winning over 200 seats in the polls to the West Bengal Assembly.

Elections to the 294-seat state assembly are expected to be held in April-May.
