Kolkata: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to visit West Bengal for two days, starting from December 12. He has more than 7 programmes in the state. According to Political analysts, the union chief's state visit ahead of the 2021 assembly elections could be significant.
According to RSS sources, Bhagwat will hold multiple meetings with the staff at Keshab Bhavan, the union's office, on December 13. Apart from this, Mohan Bhagwat will also discuss the current status of the organization in North Bengal and South Bengal with the RSS propagandists there. According to BJP sources, besides all the programmes, the RSS chief will also hold meetings with BJP state president Dilip Ghosh and Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP general secretary (organization) Amitabh Chakraborty on the same day.
Though the India Chamber of Commerce is located in Park Circus, he can attend a meeting on the same day, according to union sources. Jishnu Basu, general secretary of the RSS in South Bengal, described the RSS chief's visit as a "routine meeting". In this context, he said, "His visit is mainly for organizational meetings. He is coming to this state for the regular meetings of the association."
