West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's moveable and immovable property has significantly reduced since 2016 election and BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal is leading the by-polls in terms of money and goods

Kolkata: BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal who is contesting West Bengal by-polls against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and CPI(M)'s leader Srijib Biswas is the richest among the three heavyweight candidates who have filed their nomination from the Bhabanipur assembly constituency. The three leaders filed their nomination on Monday.

As per the latest affidavit of the BJP candidate, Priyanka Tibrewal has an annual income of Rs10,35,235. She receives Rs3,04,189 in the form of cash, has five bank accounts and has investments in mutual funds. The total value of her moveable and immovable property is Rs82,31,222. Tibrewal also owns a Scorpio Car valued at Rs15,79,969. Apart from that, she owns 400 grams of gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs13 lakhs. She also owns five gold coins valued at Rs34,000, and 20 silver coins valued at Rs50,000. Her total loan is around Rs35 lakhs.

A candidate with a communist tag, Srijib Biswas is ahead of Chief Minister Mamamta Banerjee in terms of property value. According to his affidavit, the total value of his moveable and immoveable property is Rs32,10, 840, while the CM holds Rs16, 72,352.71 for the same. The total cash in hand for Biswas is Rs10,000 while Mamata has Rs69,255 in her hand. Apart from that, Srijib has ten fixed deposits to his credit, besides investments in mutual funds and having a Tata Nexon valued at Rs 13,74,000.

The affidavit filed by the chief minister stated that her current bank deposits lie at Rs13,11,512 which is lesser than the amount (Rs 13,53,000) recorded in her account before the Nandigram polls this year.

During the 2016 West Bengal assembly elections the total worth of her movable and immovable property was worth Rs30,75,000. However, as per the latest affidavit, the same value has come down to Rs16,72,353.71 before the 2021 West Bengal assembly polls.
