Rampur: Farhat Ali Khan, National President of Akhil Bhartiya Muslim Mahasangh, resorted to a eccentric act demanding 'President Rule' in the state of West Bengal.
On Friday, Khan put forth his demand by writing 'Jai Shri Ram' on a piece of paper, with his blood, and justified his act saying that everybody had the right to raise the slogans of their respective religions.
"People here are unable to utter their religious slogans, therefore, today I wrote it with my blood to show that Muslims in India respect both Ram and Rahman," he added.
He further alleged that the Mamata Banerjee's government took away the liberty of an individual to follow his/her religious beliefs.
"This country is diverse and here each individual has a right to celebrate their festivals and to speak their slogans," he maintained.
Khan later submitted a memorandum, addressed to the President of India, to the District Magistrate in Rampur's Ambedkar park.
