The permission of building pandals in Kolkata's Bowbazar for Durga puja has been granted after a long delay. Passes to enter the premise will be issued to the locals and organisers only for the security reasons.

Kolkata (West Bengal): Permission to celebrate Durga puja in Bowbazar was granted by the Kolkata Police and authorities on Sunday.

The permission of building pandals for the festival was granted after a long delay.

The Puja will be held in the presence of police and under strict surveillance and security and local vendors of the city won't be allowed to open their stalls near the pandals.

Passes to enter the premise will be issued to the locals and organisers only.

The puja committee will be celebrating it's 58th anniversary this year.

The apparels and weapons of Goddess related to puja are kept inside the club.

The locals are evidently happy about the decision of the authorities and the height of the idol is to be reduced for security concern.

Kolkata : Permission to celebrate Durga Puja near the ruins in Bow Bazar granted. After a long delay permission regarding building pandals and celebrating Puja in the Syakra Para lane was granted by the Kolkata Police and authorities. The Puja though is to be held in presence of police and under strict surveillance and security. Pandal hoppers of the city won't be allowed to visit the Puja. Passes to enter the premise will be issued to the locals and organisers only.

Local Councillor, Satyendranath Dey, Metro Rail authority along with its Chief Engineer, Biswanath Dewanji and Police observers went for an inspection of the area today in the morning. After thorough inspection finally the permission to hold Puja in the area was given to the organisers. The puja is going to turn 58 years old this time. The apparels of Godess and other equipments related to Pujar are kept in the Club adjacent to the lane. The club members and organisers along with security personnels will be permitted to enter the premise to bring those out.

The locals are evidently happy about the decision of the authorities. The height of the idol is to be reduced for security concern. Though the splendor of the Puja is to be reduced this year. None the less the residents of the area connected with the puja are happy about the continuity of it.
