However, when Vineet Kumar Goyal took charge of Kolkata Police's as the Commissioner, he took up the idea of improving the Pranaam scheme of Kolkata Police and he implemented the idea soon. Kolkata Police has launched a special helpline system to further improve the Pranaam scheme. The helpline number is 9877955555. According to sources in Lalbazar, this number will remain open for 24 hours. If any member or members under Pranaam feel any difficulty or need, they won't have to wait by calling the local police station. By calling the helpline number of Kolkata Police directly, one will get a quick resolution.
Lalbazar sources further revealed that police personnel will be there 24 hours to attend to the calls on the helpline number. If a member or members suddenly feels the need, the officer in charge of the local police station can be called directly from the Pranam scheme with name and address and the member or members will be assured of help immediately.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal said that not only the members can call for help but also any lonely and aged person in the city can call the respective number if they feel the need and bring themselves under Pranaam scheme. The new addition as article is called 'Report Missing'. Previously, if any item or material was lost, one had to go to the local police station and file a written complaint. But by going through the respective app and entering the report missing article, common people can now report online from there.
If one reports this online, it will go directly to the local police station. As a result, one doesn't have to wait at the police station anymore. Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal said that the common people are expected to benefit a lot from the initiative.
