Kolkata: As the COVID-19 cases rise and patients continue to suffer due to lack of oxygen in hospitals, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, West Bengal, has resumed its initiative of providing oxygen free of cost to those in need.
The oxygen is being supplied from the oxygen centre at MM Model School at Imdad Ali Lane.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Shadab Masoom, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, said the organisation decided to supply oxygen free of cost as the supply is very low and people are dying. The organization launched this initiative a year ago when the first wave hit the state.
"Even we are facing a shortage of oxygen as the number of patients is increasing with every passing day and so is the demand. We are doing our best to increase the number of oxygen cylinders,"
The organization appealed to the people to donate at least one oxygen cylinder per family so that hundreds of lives could be saved.
