Fire breaks out in Kolkata's New Town, 2 suffer burn injuries

Kolkata: Two persons suffered burn injuries and some temporary shops were also damaged after a fire broke out in New Town area here on Thursday morning, fire brigade officials said.

A fire broke out in Kolkata's New Town on Thursday.
The fire was reported at 4.30 am from action area-III of New Town, opposite Shapoorji complex. Four fire tenders were pressed into action. "It took the fire fighters three hours to completely douse the fire," they said.

Two persons - one fire fighter and a local - received minor burns, they added. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, the officials said.

The locals claimed that they heard a sound of LPG cylinder explosion and 30 temporary shops were gutted in the incident.

injuries and some temporary shops were damaged after a fire
broke out in New Town area early Thursday, Fire Brigade
officials said.
         The fire was reported at 4.30 am from action area III
of New Town, opposite Shapoorji complex, and four fire tenders
were pressed into service.
         "The fire fighters completely doused the fire after
three hours," they said.
         Two persons - one fire fighter and a local - received
minor burns, they said.
         The cause of the fire was not yet known, officials
said.
         The locals claimed that 30 temporary shops were gutted
