Dhoni fan Shubham tops in ISC, aims to crack civil services

Five stood first in ISC across the country and the school authorities did not expect that the student of their school would figure in the merit list. This student is the first in the school's history to rank top in the country.

Dhoni fan Shubham tops in ISC, aims to crack civil services

Siliguri (West Bengal): Shubham Kumar Agarwal from Siliguri ranked first in Indian School Certificate (ISC) in Class XII, which was announced on Sunday. This die-hard fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not even think of such an outcome. It was his friends, who informed him about his outstanding show when he was watching web series around noon. Shubham couldn't believe it at first.

After that, when his friends showed him the results, Shubham was on cloud nine. Although the best in the country, there is not even an iota of pride seen in his eyes. Shubham, a student of St Joseph's School in Bhaktinagar Navagram in Siliguri, scored 99.75 per cent marks in the ISC.

He scored 99 in English, 100 in History, 100 in Political Science and 100 in Geography. Shubham, is a resident of the Goshala intersection of Ward No. 26. His father Rajesh Agarwal is a businessman and owns a shop in Mahabirsthan, while his mother Anita Aggarwal is a homemaker. Shubham said that he wants to study law for the next five years. He then said that he would prepare himself for Civil Services.

The school authorities are also happy with his results. This student is the first in the school's history to rank top in the country. Shubham Aggarwal said, "At first I couldn't believe that I would get such a good result. Later, my friends told me. Every teacher in the school has always been supportive of me. My parents have always been there."

School Principal Sister Priscilla said, "Shubham has been a good student since the beginning. He has done well in every exam. We knew he would do well in this exam, too. A very calm and quiet boy." Being a Dhoni fan, Shubham likes to play cricket and is a supporter of Chennai Super Kings. Shubham plays cricket in his spare time. Shubham has already been selected for the National University of Judicial Sciences in Kolkata to pursue further studies.
