Kolkata: Border Security Force (BSF) had arrested a Chinese citizen, Han Junwe from the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal. Han Junwe is a cyber spy who is accused of smuggling out 1,300 Indian SIM cards to China. However, according to BSF, Han Junwe is not the only one. Like him, many other Chinese cyber spies have become active in the Indo-Bangladesh bordering village areas, suspects the Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) of the Border Security Force (BSF).

According to information available with SIU of BSF, multiple Chinese cyber spies have become active in the Indo- Bangladesh border areas. Accordingly, the BSF sleuths are also taking necessary action to check this menace. They have decided to raise new barbed fences over a vast area in these borders. At the same time, high-capacity and high-quality CCTV machines will also be installed in these pockets.

BSF's Bengal Frontier spokesperson, SS Guliyar told ETV Bharat that the BSF jawans have been kept on high alert. "It was because of our initiative Han was nabbed, though we later handed him over to the district police of Malda as per protocol. However, he is being questioned constantly by our SIU officers, following which we have come across crucial information".

He further added, "Although I cannot share our details of the information for the sake of investigation, Han is not alone. Many other Chinese cyber spies and criminals are active in the Indo- Bangladesh borders taking advantage of the lack of adequate barbed fencing in different parts". He also admitted that these Chinese cyber spies are also taking advantage of the lack of proper checking facilities in certain remote border points.

SIU officials also doubt that microchips might be implanted in the body of Han and to locate that DNA tests need to be done. "BSF is ready to hand over all necessary documents available with it to the state police, which will interrogate Han now," he said.

Special Task Force of West Bengal Police and National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths are in the fray to interrogate Han. The process has started for the handover of case records from Malda district police to STF and NIA.

Investigating sleuths are sure that Han has deep-rooted contacts with other cyber spies. They are now trying to crack the password of Han's laptop. And since the password is in the Mandarin language, the agency sleuths are looking for an individual who is proficient with this language so that his knowledge can be used to crack the password.
