BJP's slogan "Khela noi charkri chai" to counter Trinamool's 'khela' jingle

BJP’s youth wing has decided to organize a “March to Kolkata,” agitation programme on August 20, with the jingle "Khela noi charkri chai" (not game, we want jobs). BJP sources said that this will be a counter to the chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream project to celebrate khela hobe day on August 16, 2021.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress’s khela hobe (there will be a game) slogan became a hit for the party in the recently concluded West Bengal assembly elections. Encouraged by that phenomenon, the Mamata Banerjee- led state government has decided to start a programme “khela hobe” in different districts of the state to encourage sports in the districts.

On the other hand, there are grievances among youths of the state because of the lack of employment facilities. So, combining the two factors BJP’s youth wing has decided to organize a “March to Kolkata,” agitation programme on August 20, with the jingle "Khela noi charkri chai" (not game, we want jobs). The member of the saffron camp’s youth wing from the 39 organizational districts of the state will participate in the agitation programme

BJP sources said that this will be a counter to the chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream project to celebrate khela hobe day on August 16, 2021, throughout the state to encourage sports in the districts. Besides the “March to Kolkata '' agitation programme on August 20, the youth wing members of BJP will organize protest demonstrations to demand jobs in different pockets of the state from August 9 to 16.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, the BJP youth wing general secretary, Prakash Das said that during the last 10 years of the Trinamool Congress regime there had been absolutely no transparency in the employment system.

“The chief minister is celebrating sports day. So on August 20, we will hit the streets of Kolkata in protest, demanding jobs for thousands of unemployed youths in the state,” he said.

The major issues to be highlighted in the agitation programme include demanding jobs for unemployed youths, the annual SSC examination and the State Public Service Commission examination, among others.

On Sunday, there was the working committee meeting of BJP’s youth wing at Kolkata. In the meeting, it was decided that since unemployment is a burning problem in the state, they should start a massive movement against the state government on this issue.
