New Delhi: BJP leader Bhaskar Ghosh on Thursday alleged that the people of West Bengal are voting in large numbers against Mamta Banerjee's government in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ghosh said, on the one hand, Mamata is projecting herself as a Prime Minister, on the other hand, people are casting their votes against her.
The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal had, in January, projected the party chief Mamata Banerjee as a possible prime ministerial candidate of any grand alliance (mahagathbandhan) for the ongoing polls.
Ghosh alleged that the West Bengal Chief Minister is scared of BJP as she has resorted to direct his cadre TMC goons to attack voters.
The BJP leader claimed that his party will win more than 22 seats in West Bengal.
Three Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal - Darjeeling, Raiganj, and Jalpaiguri went to polls on April 18 while two seats including Alipurduar and Cooch Behar voted on April 11. The polling for the rest of the seats will be held in the remaining five phases of elections.
The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
