Kolkata: Arpita Mukherjee, one of the accused in the multi-crore West Bengal School Service Commission recruitment irregularities scam, feels "left alone" at Alipore Women's Correctional Home, claimed by relevant sources in the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The monotony of prison life has begun to haunt her!
Former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee's close associate Arpita is in the custody of the central agency for more than a month. But, later, like Partha, she too was sent to judicial custody. Since then, Arpita's address is Alipore Women's Correctional Home.

According to sources, her friends used to come to Alipore to meet Arpita at times. But, lately, they have turned their backs and none of them are visiting her. Now, she usually spends her days sitting and lying in her cell. Arpita's mother has also refused to meet her in jail once. This is Arpita's biggest regret. Arpita tried to talk to her mother several times through a lawyer, but, the elderly woman did not budge. Now, loneliness is the only companion of Arpita Mukherjee.
