Kolkata: Actor, director and TMC MLA Raj Chakraborty is one of the Bengali film personalities who won a resounding victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections.
Ahead of the inauguration of a safe home in Titagarh Municipality of North 24 Parganas on Thursday, Raj Chakraborty spoke to ETV Bharat where he described directing and politics as two separate things.

He said that he is a professional director which is his first choice but a phone call from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (Didi) lifted his public spirit.
Notably, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had given tickets to many famous Bengali film actors, actresses and directors for the 2021 Assembly elections and most of them have emerged victorious.
The Trinamool Congress MLA said that earlier he was working behind the camera and directing people but after becoming a Member of the West Bengal Assembly he will serve people and work on their directions.

He also thanked people for electing him and said that he is also an ordinary person who has come this way long after starting from the ground level.
He also stated that three things are essential for success in life: principle, a code of conduct and strong willpower.
