Taherpur(WB): Five persons were arrestedfor assaulting a Kashmiri shawl trader in West Bengal's Nadiadistrict, police said on Thursday.
Javed Khan, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, wasbeaten up at his shop by some persons in the Taherpur bazaron Monday evening, days after the terrorist attack at Pulwamain Kashmir that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel.
Since Khan was reluctant to lodge a police complaint,a suo motu case was started by the police and five personswere arrested on Wednesday, superintendent of police (Nadia) Rupesh Kumar said.
The five arrested persons were produced in a RanaghatCourt on Thursday.
"The court granted bail to all the five arrestedpersons," police added.
