Ilambazar: Around 150 workers switched from the BJP to the Trinamool Congress in an unusual event, that led to both sides calling each other a virus.
The new members were asked to 'sanitize' by Trinamool's district leadership. The party's Ilambazar block president Dulal Ray said 'The motive was to free their body, mind and soul from the saffron virus'. The event brought strong criticisms from different corners. The BJP said that by resorting to such an action, Trinamool Congress leaders have proved that they are the most deadly virus.
The BJP said that in different pockets in the state their supporters are forced to join the Trinamool Congress following threats, reports said.

Dulal Ray claimed that those 150 people who joined Trinamool Congress on Thursday admitted that joining BJP was their mistake in life. "So we gave them a condition that they will be accommodated in Trinamool provided they get sanitized. They happily accepted our condition. After that they were sanitized and handed over the party flag," Ray said. He also claimed several BJP supporters in the district have appealed to the leadership for joining Trinamool. "They are even sitting in front of our party offices with placards appealing to join the TMC," he said.
