New Delhi: Twelve Bangladeshi nationals apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) troops at Ram Nagar post duty while crossing over to Indian side illegally, were handed over to Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) in a Flag meeting in the wee hours of Monday.
According to the reports, BSF got an intelligence input about some Indians and Bangladeshi nationals would cross the border probably in the morning. Subsequently, the Border Security Force personnel arrested and handed over to the Ram Nagar police station.
Earlier, alerted BSF personnel foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of anti-national elements from Pakistan into Indian Punjab in the early hours of Thursday by taking advantage of poor visibility due to dense fog.
India and Bangladesh share a 4,096 km international border, the fifth-longest land border in the world, including 263 km in Assam, 856 km in Tripura, 318 km in Mizoram, 443 km in Meghalaya, and 2,216.7 km in West Bengal.
