Murshidabad (West Bengal): Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress leader and Member of Parliament for Berhampore said that BJP government at the centre has made no substantial progress in spite of its stratospheric promises. The current economic situation of the nation reflects the inefficiency and the careless attitude of the government towards the common people.
Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Opposition leader claimed that 100 days of Modi regime can be compared with a highly disable monotonous rhetoric as the government has made no substantial achievement.
"In the first 100 days, the entire country has been witnessing the disastrous economic slowdown as many people are denied jobs. There is a despondency that has engulfed the entire nation but the government is impervious to the plight of the common people. The pains and sorrows of people have failed to touch the conscious of this government. BJP is a government of failure, for failure and by failure," Chowdhury said.
"Government is busy only on advertising and propagating their manufactured successes with an aimed of collecting votes. BJP government has failed miserably in every aspect as the nation is lagging behind the economic growth," he added.
Speaking about how different is BJP and Congress government on the economic front, Opposition leader Chowdhury said that the Congress government has achieved incredible growth even after the entire world has undergone an economic recession. Under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh during the UPA regime, in spite of all economic adversities, our nation had been able to navigate all the hostile economic situations.
While promoting itself BJP government has forgotten the fundamental needs of the common people. In the employment scenario, there is no indication of employment generation in our nation as a result of which the country has been witnessing unprecedented unemployment situation. The government at the Centre has never tried to amend and get rid of the situation because it is apathetic to the plight of unemployed youth of the country. This government has become an epitome of failure.
Talking about the political mandate of Opposition, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that Congress party believes in constructive opposition and we must expose Centre's failure. Being the opposition our duty to draw the attention of the government to the burning issues of unemployment, economic slowdown and law and order issue which need to be addressed instantly.
"We will be discharging our responsibilities in a befitted manner," he stated.
