Dehradun: To fight COVID-19 pandemic, the Uttarakhand government has decided to screen each and every resident of the state. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has asked officials to make intensive plans to execute this on the ground.
If things go as per plan, then all the residents will be screened for COVID-19 within a fortnight. To get it done, they are planning to rope in 10000 ASHA workers and 36000 Anganwadi workers. Even they are planning to rope in government employees for this. CM reiterated that their government is taking every preventive measure to save precious lives.
He further said that educating people about COVID-19 virus was important.
The recovery rate of Uttarakhand is quite satisfactory because 1135 people out of 1836 have been cured and discharged so far. If we look at the recovery rate, then it is 61.82 per cent. The CM believes that the situation will improve after June 20. It was informed that 4000 samples are pending for test and these samples were collected from migrants, who arrived from coronavirus affected areas.
Although the state population is around one crore they have collected samples of 46,573 people including migrants so far. As per the government health bulletin, 1836 people are affected by COVID-19.
