Tehri (Uttarakhand): Rajya Lakshmi Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate from Tehri Lok Sabha seat and the 'Queen of Tehri', has ramped up her efforts to woo the voters, ahead of the upcoming elections in the state.
As per the schedule, Uttarakhand will go to polls in the first phase i.e., on all the five seats, on April 11. While all the candidates have embarked on their respective campaigns, Shah too; is going all out to connect with the people.
On Tuesday, Shah visited 30 villages around New Tehri and appealed people to vote for her. She outlined the achievements of the union government alongside the developments made by the state government, hitting out at the Congress for their indifference towards the people and state's welfare.
Shah further targeted Congress, while addressing a rally and said, "Congress had never respected women and never gave the chance to female candidates from Uttarakhand, while BJP has given the ticket to female candidate."

"I raised the Dobra Panthi Bridge issue several times and got 70 crore rupees for the bridge, and the work is still in progress," Shah added.
BJP Candidate Rajya Lakshmi Shah will be contesting against Congress candidate Pritam Singh.
