Uttarakhand: Police bust synthetic milk production factory

Uttarakhand Police raided a fake dairy factory near Shimla bypass road in Dehradun that was manufacturing highly toxic synthetic milk products. A huge quantity of liquid detergent, maltodextrin powder, sodium thiosulfate and other chemicals were seized during the raid. An investigation into the matter is underway.

Dehradun: In a major crackdown, Dehradun police have busted the dairy factory that was manufacturing highly toxic synthetic milk products and passing them off as branded milk in the state.

Dehradun city SP Shweta Choubey along with the team of Food Department raided the dairy factory situated near Shimla bypass road, Bhuddi village.

Detergent powder, fake chemicals, and other harmful substances were being used as raw materials.

Surprisingly, the milk, curd, and cheese produced here were not only supplied in Dehradun, but it was also consumed in other regions of Uttarakhand in large number.

When ETV Bharat got to know about the fraudulent production, it immediately informed the police about the case.

Dehradun SP Shweta Choubey and Food Safety officer arrived on the spot and raided the factory.

“A huge quantity of liquid detergent, maltodextrin powder, sodium thiosulfate, and other chemicals were seized during the raid,” Choubey informed.

The accused were also using a high quantity of preservatives, she added.

Villagers revealed that the factory was in operation for more than one year and every day the area around the factory used to stink after 10:00 pm.

According to sources, Furkan Ali, the factory operator also has another dairy business running in the posh Colony Race Course.

Food Safety Department has taken a sample of the products and based on the report, further legal action will be taken.
