Minister reviews Kumbh mela preparations

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Friday reviewed the construction works of Kumbh Mela set to start from January 14, 2021 in Haridwar in Uttarakhand.

Haridwar: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Friday reviewed the construction works of Kumbh mela set to start from January 14, 2021. He interacted with the officials and met the President of Akhara Parishad, Narendra Giri assuring him of all help from the government.

Giri asked the minister if elections can be held in the country now with COVID-19 protocols in place, then why can't Kumbh mela take place in all its grandeur.

To this, Nishank who met sadhus and saints at a private residence in Haridwar said they will have no problem of any kind. He added that the Kumbh will be held in a grand manner as always.

During the meeting, the Union Minister welcomed the saints by garlanding them, heard their issues and promised all help.

The Union Education Minister also met the family of an 11-year-old rape and murder victim.
