Dehradun: Due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Uttarakhand government has extended the COVID related lockdown till June 29. However, shops and malls are allowed to open five days a week. The state cabinet has also said that the Chardham yatra will start on July 11.
According to the government's order, hotels and restaurants can run with a capacity of 50 percent and they must be shut from 10 pm to 6 am. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said that government will decide on June 29 whether to extend the lockdown again or not.

In the state of Uttar Pradesh, the government has relaxed the night curfew by two hours from June 21, allowing shops, malls and restaurants till 9 pm on weekdays. Saturday and Sunday will be weekly holidays, said the order issued by Chief Secretary RK Tiwari.
According to the order, from Monday (June 21), the night curfew hours will be from 9 pm to 7 am. Various activities, including the opening of markets outside the containment zones, full attendance in government offices, opening of eateries with 50 percent capacity and malls will be allowed. During marriages and other functions, a maximum of 50 people will be allowed at both open and closed venues and only 50 people will be allowed in religious places at a time, the guidelines said.
